Brat Bites
Every year, we go to a fundraiser for our community to help our local people that might need an extra hand. It is an amazing fundraiser and has helped many people year after year. I love our little community for this and am lucky to have found such a community.
The fundraiser is always a blast and each table puts together their own theme. I am all about a theme…especially when it comes to the food! We’ve done themes such as Kentucky Derby, Oktoberfest, Sandlot/League of their own mashup….always a good time for a good cause.
These were delicious for our Oktoberfest theme and were so simple to put together. They’d make a great appetizer any time of the year and were definitely a crowd pleaser!
Brat Bites
Prep time: 10 minutes | Cook time: 1-3 hours
Servings: 10-12
Ingredients
- 10 brats, cooked and sliced
- 2 - 12 oz bottles of beer
- 1 c brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp dijon mustard
- 2 Tbsp parsley (1 1/2 for dried)
- 4 tsp corn starch
- 2 Tbsp cold water
Instructions
Cook the brats (I boiled them in water until they reached 160°F)
In a saucepan, add beer, brown sugar, mustard and parsley. Boil for a few minutes. Combine the cornstarch and water together in a small bowl and add to the saucepan. Let boil for a few minutes until it has slightly thickened. You can now add your brats to the sauce and coat each piece. I like to prep this and serve it later, so I would no pour the entire sauce pan in a small crockpot and put it on low to let it cook more for an hour or two.
Enjoy!
